Volunteer Opportunities

At Both CMBO Centers:
Northwood Center in Cape May Point.
Center for Research and Education in Goshen.

You and your time are valuable to us!

Associate Naturalists and Field Trip Assistants

Most of our daily walks are led by volunteers. If you are a good birder/naturalist, have excellent people skills, and want to give something back, contact Don Freiday in Goshen to learn about volunteering as a leader.

Nature Store Volunteers

Friendly people needed to greet visitors, answer phones, provide information, and process sales. Contact Mike Crewe at the Northwood Center or Brian Moscatello at the Center for Research & Education.

Nature Store Inventory

Help us count our stock at CMBO. Contact Brian Moscatello at the Center for Research & Education. Semi-annual counts take place in February and again in July / August, see the Naturalist Calendar for details.

Feeder Fillers

People to clean and fill feeders regularly at both centers.

Backyard Habitat Seminars and Garden Maintenance

The Model Backyard Habitat in Goshen requires seasonal care by volunteers. Everyone is welcome – new and experienced gardeners! See the Naturalist Calendar for dates and times of garden planning and maintenance schedules (when available). Or, contact Brian Moscatello or Chris Tonkinson in Goshen.

Packet Preparation

Assemble information and membership packs and packets for programs. Contact Deborah Shaw in Goshen.
