Tom Reed has been birding since the age of ten and is a CMBO Associate Naturalist. He currently attends Rutgers University, where he is studying Environmental Policy, Institutions and Behavior. In addition to his work with CMBO, Tom has also conducted various surveys
for the Cape May National Wildlife Refuge and several other local organizations.
He has been a World Series of Birding participant since 2000 and served as
captain of the CMBO youth team for seven years. Tom was also a member of the
American Birding Association’s “Tropicbirds” youth team during the Great Texas
Birding Classic in 2006. He credits the late Fred Mears for sparking his
interest in birding and thanks his parents immensely for their support through
the years.
