Michael O'Brien

Michael is a VENT tour leader, freelance artist and author living in West Cape May. Michael is perhaps best known as an expert on the flight calls of migrating birds and has been a primary counter for the morning “dike flight” since it began in 2003. He is co-author of The Shorebird Guide, Flight Calls of Migratory Birds CD-ROM, and America’s 100 Most Wanted Birds. His illustrations have been widely published and include credits in National Geographic’s Field Guide to the Birds of North America. Michael particularly enjoys teaching about bird identification and he conducts numerous ID workshops for the Cape May Bird Observatory.
