
Laura C. GuerardLaura is Manager of Bird Cape May On-line which encompasses the operations of the Bird Cape May and FeatherEdge Optics websites. A former staff educator for Audubon Vermont and Audubon of Florida’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, she has also conducted migratory owl research and educational programs with rehabilitated raptors for Braddock Bay Raptor Research. Laura served as the Assistant Director for the Audubon Camp in Maine and as their Director of Teen and Youth Camps as well as, co-founded the teen birding camp Coastal Maine Bird Studies which is one of the most successful teen birding camps in the country. With both a deep passion for the natural world and environmental education she enjoys the ability to share what Cape May has to offer with the world. Today, you may find her touting the need for mentors to instill a sense of place and passion for birds through the New Jersey Audubon/Cape May Bird Observatory’s Take A Kid Birding® initiative that serves as a resource for mentors and young birders.
