Join us for our 63rd Annual Cape May Autumn Weekend – Nowhere else will so much birding talent be assembled in one place at one time.
Field Trips – Enjoy friendly, easy-paced birding to Cape May's birding hotspots led by North America's finest naturalists; trips offered throughout the weekend. Weekend bird checklist can tally close to 200 species.
Indoor Workshops & Programs – for the beginner to the advanced birder. Let the experts show you everything you ever wanted to know about field identification, beginning and intermediate birding, digiscoping, hawk watching, seabird watching, choosing binoculars & scopes, and more.
Optics Corner – The Wicker Room at the Grand Hotel will be filled with binoculars, spotting scopes, and accessories for hands-on demonstrations and sales. Representatives from the Cape May Bird Observatory, Kowa, Leica, Nikon, Swarovski, and Zeiss will be available throughout the weekend to help with all your optic needs.
Migratory Watches – Join veteran watchers as they conduct counts at prime locations to watch migratory passerines, raptors, and seabirds.
Poor Man’s Pelagic aboard the Cape May Lewes Ferry* – A round trip on the Cape May Lewes Ferry while we look for gannets, loons, scoters, jaegers, interesting gulls and always the possibility of a rarity! Cost is in addition to weekend package; registration required.
Salt Marsh Eco Tour* – Explore Cape May’s coastal waters aboard The Osprey with naturalist Captain David Githens. Combine birding, the ecology of the tideline, the scenic harbor, Cape May history, and fun! Enjoy excellent views of many species unique to the salt marsh, including Osprey, herons, oystercatchers, egrets, various shorebirds, and possibly rails. Separate registration and fee required; space limited.

Preregistration is required for any event throughout the weekend. Registration is for “packages only” not individual activities. Registration deadline is October 5, 2009.

Schedule of Events
A PRELIMINARY schedule will be available mid-July.
Event organizers reserve the right to cancel or substitute activities when necessary. Events run rain or shine except where noted. All transportation is the responsibility of the participant.
A registration packet with tickets, daily admission passes, the weekend schedule, and map will be mailed to registered participants prior to the event. No admission to any event or program without Daily Admission Pass.
Field trips, programs, and workshops are included as part of a package and do not require separate registration except where noted.
